With the increasing prosperity of the portable electronic device market such as smartphones and tablets, slimness has become an inevitable trend in the development of these devices. In this context, ultra-thin flexible glass (UTG) has emerged as a standard for the new generation of smartphones and other devices. So, how is this ultra-thin flexible glass produced?
The production process of UTG ultra-thin flexible glass mainly includes the following key steps:
Firstly, the preparation of raw materials. High quality raw materials such as quartz sand, alkali metals, and oxidants are selected, and strict chemical analysis and physical testing are carried out to ensure the high purity and uniformity of the raw materials.
The next step is the melting process. Put the mixed raw materials into a high-temperature furnace for melting, forming a uniform and bubble free glass liquid.
Then comes the molding. By using advanced overflow pull-down method or float process, the molten glass liquid is pulled into ultra-thin glass ribbon with uniform thickness and smooth surface.
Next is annealing treatment. By precisely controlling the annealing temperature and time, the stress inside the glass is eliminated, and its strength and stability are improved.
Finally, there is cutting and processing. According to product requirements, precise cutting and processing of ultra-thin glass strips are carried out to form various shapes and sizes of UTG ultra-thin flexible glass.
Throughout the entire production process, it is necessary to strictly control the environmental temperature and humidity to ensure the stability and consistency of product quality.
